The Big Island The town of Kona is located on the sunny western shore of the big island of Hawaii. White Sands Village  is about 12 miles from the airport and 4 miles south of the town of Kailua-Kona. In Kona, you'll find any kind of restaurant or shop that you might desire, as well as various evening entertainment. Many establishments in Kona offer whale watching tours, sportfishing and other boating adventures, sunset dinner cruises, luaus, or sightseeing tours by air.  A charming beachfront restaurant called Jameson's is located across the street from our condo. Near White Sands Village is the best snorkeling beach of any on the Hawaiian Islands, called Kahalu'u Beach Park. Here you will find giant sea turtles swimming alongside you or sunning themselves on the beach. If you are lucky, you might even see the spouting of a passing whale.The Keauhou shopping center with a supermarket is 5 minutes away. The premier golf course, Kona Country Club is only two miles away. Small family owned coffee and macadamia plantations are nestled among the lush tropical vegetation of the steep hillsides of the Big Island.  The owners are happy to give you a personal tour of the grounds and operation.  There are beautiful white sand beaches to the northwest, canyons to the north, and rainforests and waterfalls near Hilo. You'll find black sand beaches and even a green sand beach to the south, along with the still active Kilauea crater at Volcanoes National Park. Kona Inn We like to sit in the bar area and have a drink with pupu's while watching the sunset. There is also a big grassy area close enough for the keiki's to run around while you keep your eyes on them! Mike loves the fish and chips! L&L Hawaiian Barbeque Great for a quick lunch or dinner. Love their breakfasts too! Various locations around the island' We also love to BBQ fresh fish on the three gas grills by the pool area. You can find fresh fish at Costco or KTA. Jameson's by The Sea Across the street from our condo. Oceanfront and great atmosphere. Kope Lani Serving Big Island Ice Cream and 100% Kona Coffee. Kira's favorite is Kealakekua Crunch! Favorite Beaches Magic Sands Beach Directly Across from White Sands Village and less than 70 steps from your vacation condo! Kua Bay or Manini‘owali Beach Located north of the airport. Gobs of beautiful white sand! Pack a lunch, go early and stay all day! Closed on Wednesdays. Amy's happy place! Wawaloli If the waves are big or you just want a place for the keiki's to play this is a great spot. There is a large tidepool that is perfect for the little ones to swim or splash around in. Just north of Kona.Take the first left after Costco, go past the Natural Energy Lab and park anywhere along the coast. Favorite Snorkeling Kahalu'u Beach Park About a mile south of  our condo on Ali'i. Clear water, protected bay, lifeguards and LOTS of fish. Two Steps Located at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, The Place of Refuge. Kealakekua Bay Rent a kayak and paddle a mile or take a snorkel tour. Other Adventures Hawaii Volcanoes National Park A must see!
